Memorial weekend riding

Postby shagzomatic » Sat May 28, 2016 8:59 am

Well I saw mention of this elsewhere so figured I'd dump a thread on it...who wants to ride this weekend? :wheelie:

I was originally thinking I wanted to go for a longer ride Monday, but the forecast is currently looking better for tomorrow (Sunday), so right now I'm leaning for tomorrow (can't today). Hell, if it clears up Monday I may think about going out again. If anyone's up for it, I was hoping to make a run up to Galena, or at minimum do Clinton & Charlotte. I'm open for just about any time, though I usually prefer to roll in the morning if I'm going through Savanna since there tends to be more super-slow traffic on Scenic Ridge once you get past noon.

Let's put something together, eh? Let me know what folks are thinking.

Count me in!

The Galena route last time was great, but I agree that it would be best to leave a bit earlier. I know Hawk wanted to do a ride and it sounded like the morning was out for him, so we'll see what he has to say. I'm fine with Clinton/Charlotte as well.

Well you could always take a little sidetrack.

I will be here https://www.google.com/maps/place/Auror ... 9632?hl=en

from 8am to 4pm on Sunday doing my first 3 gun match. It's outside, and there are no gate fees or entry charges.

Just bring earplugs, safety glasses, and sign a waiver. :banana-dance:

I would like to squeeze in some time to ride this weekend, but I need to get tires mounted first

I prefer morning as well but have church at 10:30 and now my in-laws want to grill out afterwards. If we're talking morning I could go around 6 or 7am. I actually enjoy early morning. Went mountain biking at 6:30 today. I'm guessing most people are thinking 9-11am so don't worry about me this time around. I can join you guys next time.
My Monday is wide open so if the weather holds Monday I'm free whenever. Sunday evening isn't a bad idea either. Like 5 or 6pm.

Normally I'd suggest 8:30 or 9...but I just got home from about 9 hours worth of driving today, so I probably won't have the energy to be up early enough to do a 6:30 run, since I'm hopped up on sugar & caffeine right now and probably won't be getting to sleep for a bit.

So...how's 10 at the Git n Go in Rapids City sound?

I could probably be convinced to do 9am instead, if anyone would rather go a little earlier.

Monday's forecast seems to be looking better as well.

Long day for me as well, so 10am sounds great.
