Re: Personal opinions sought on stable

Thanks, that's the kinda personal angle I was looking for. I've been leaning toward the street bike first which you've suggested. As for my 636, it is fun and its height fits me well. When I come off the corner ahead of the long straights, I often find myself wishing I had more umph. With the lightn...

Re: Newb mistake

For as long as I've owned this, as many times as the bike has seen the ground, and as often as I spend on kawiforums you'd think I'd have known that. After a couple of quick searches, you're quite right. In fact, some people have had their swingarm spool bracket come off while on a stand! I assume i...

Personal opinions sought on stable

Stable of bikes, not women. I can barely satisfy one as it is :banana-dance: I've been riding an '05 636 since '06. Its both my (Intermediate) track and street bike. My wife has a Yamaha FZ6R (she's street only) and I ride it on occasion. This is her third season coming up. She wants a used Monster,...

Newb mistake

A couple of weeks ago I took my bike out and didn't get past the neighbor's house (an uphill turn) before the rear totally slid out from under me. For days I figured I twisted too much on cold tires. Then, less than a week later I was taking it out again and figured I'd check tire pressure. Never be...

Re: Winter Projects

Last year was my valve adjust year and it was quite an experience :stars: This year I want to apply a "quarter turn throttle mod" because my grip has way more play than I want it to. And adjusting the cable has no effect. Also need to do a throttle body synch again. Its just not idling rig...

Re: QCSB monthly bike night

I love Front Street. Sadly Thursday is as nuts as it gets (3 evening activities). What time do you all typically meet up and is there a break for winter?

Re: 2012 Trackdays

Bail on novice as soon as you can it seems to be nothing but a meat grinder and is allways packed . As far as being too slow there's allways somebody slower than you and allways people parking in the corners. me and another guy were talking about this last trackday i did out there. Only people I've...

Re: some nice reading

In a section of Indiana where I lived there was a woody windy road. It was not uncommon for people to be speeding around it (car or bike) on the wrong side of the line. Was very nerve-wracking so when I see it, I instinctively hate it.

Re:

If I didn't have other stuff going on Saturday, I was thinking pretty seriously about going to Putnam this weekend. It's definitely on the list for next year. Old riding partner and I had a blast. Turns out he was thinking of getting out of riding but the event reminded him what it was al...
