Re: Racetech Suspension

Bumping this one to ask how hard changing out the springs and oil is. I've done it on an '84 VF500 but the forks are inverted now and far more complex, or so they appear. What sort of tools to I need to disassemble the forks themselves? Nevermind getting the forks off, that's simple.

Getting a newb onto the track

I need some advice. There's a pretty cool high school-er across the street who's heavy into dirt riding and this summer took up street riding. His dad indicated he was set on a sportbike but he was deterred. I advised his dad I'd be happy to take him to the track when I thought he was ready, and I'm...

Re: Illinois eavesdropping law

In a related sense, has anyone taken seriously Progressive's new, "let us track your driving habits with an onboard computer and we'll charge you less" approach? I know there's one rental car company that does the same, and I avoid them like the plague.

Now, now, we all know married men don't do that. Their wives are quite enough :poke:

Re: Newb mistake

What?! After all the hype from others' about your riding in freezing temperatures? I must call BS on those claims now.

Oh yeah, hope your limp-wristed hand gets well soon :banana-fingers:

Re: Changing gigs

Before coming here I'd celebrated my 10th anniv at the previous org. There are big pluses to hanging with the same org and that's more my style. I used to be a field engineer, so the consulting gig I understand. Does pay ridiculous but I realized that if you have no time to spend it, what's the poin...

Re: Personal opinions sought on stable

No, she's practically NEVER in Moline. My rule of thumb for riding to/fro work is 48F. Below that, my fingers start to lose feeling (indicated ~83mph) and I consider that too risky given my circumstances. I keep it active for a bit longer to support quick trips to the store and all, but have largely...

Changing gigs

I've been here in the QC for three years from Indiana. Love it. Anyway, I'm deeply enjoying the last 1.5wks of my job at HNI (parent corp to HON) down in Muscatine before my transition to the Green Deer. I'm super stoked. I was thinking. If one could change jobs every year, you could effectively wor...

 So there's this one spot that just doesn't fit the rest but made me LOL (my kid looked at me funny, even): on the way to yoga Given the rest of the post, and having endured the pain of that, its weird. Awesome ad. Whatever he does he needs to be in marketing. At least his ask isn't as outland...

Re: Personal opinions sought on stable

We're a 3 bike stable also. My better half has the previously mentioned Ninja 250 and is doing very well learning to ride it. My FJR is my street bike/long hawler and my 09 R6 I recently purchase(stole  ) is in the process of getting changed into a track only bike once funds come available ...
