shutting down

Hey all, I'm going to be turning down the site soon. Maintenance efforts etc aren't worth the trouble at this point, especially given current site traffic. New registrations were recently shut off after a new spambot attack, and that's going to remain disabled. If anyone is interested in pushing on ...

Re: What did you do to your bike today?

Always nice how some new shoes can make a bike come alive again. :banana-dance:

Meanwhile, race bike fork service time over here.

Re: Best local shop for suspension work?

I don't believe Mid-West Sportbikes is doing a whole lot (if anything) these days. Haven't talked to him in a while, and his website is all shut down now. Seems like my last post is worth an update after 6 years....aside from my race SV's forks, which I service myself, all my suspension goes to Trac...

Re: Any twisty routes in the area??

:welcome: I don't ride much on the street anymore, but here's a basic rundown of all my old haunts. There isn't a lot in the immediate area, I usually went north when I was looking for fun. ⋅  Rapids City to Albany via Meredosia Rd ⋅  Clinton to Charlotte to DeWitt ⋅  U...

Re: Thinking about selling

Devil's advocate....the same applies to your track car, though, and while you certainly do have a cage around you for that, you can still take a heap of personal damage in an incident there. In which case you're already in virtually the same situation from a medical coverage perspective as what you'...

Re: Thinking about selling

Telling you not to sell it when I'm looking at doing the same to my street bike might come off a bit hypocritical, I think... I'd hate to see you ditch bikes entirely, however. You were having a huge pile of fun out at the track and making tons of great progress last year. If you're worried ab...

Re: What did you do to your bike today?

New tires for the street ride arrived today...just gotta get them mounted. Was going to toss up a sale PSA since Revzilla was closing out the old model Dunlop Q3s for dirt cheap (got this set for $210), but apparently they're all gone now. Been talking with a guy at work who'd probably go in for a ...

Re: ride this weekend

Alright, so my morning thing ran longer than I thought, and it's already 90+ degrees according to my thermometer...I think I'm going to be a wimp and say I'd rather go Monday morning.

Want to say 9am somewhere? Git n Go in Rapids City, since that's a decent default? Open to other suggestions.

Re: ride this weekend

I'm not clear until after noon today, got someone coming by this morning. I'll poke a few folks directly, see if they're around etc.
